to top Q: What is 3D-Eye Office and how does it
benefit my practice?
A: 3D-Eye Office is a
software program with about 230 3D animations that cover all topics,
including ocular anatomy, ocular pathology, refractive errors, clinical
procedures, optical dispensing and contact lenses. These animations are
narrated in several languages for the purpose of patient education. 3D-Eye
Office also functions as a marketing tool for physicians and manufacturers.
Our animations help to bridge the gap between manufacturers and doctors,
doctors and patients, and manufacturers and patients. With 3D-Eye Office
clients can rest assured that the message in their practice will be
conveyed clearly, consistently and accurately, leaving the patients with an
experience they will never forget. 3D-Eye Office is the only fully 3D
animated communication platform in the eye-care industry. The platform
allows users to create general awareness of products and services offered
within the practice by grouping videos into Playlists. These Playlists
offer explanations to patients on how and why procedures and services are
performed. This will save you time by consolidating the delivery of the
message into the push of a single button. Eyemaginations is proud to offer
the only 3D animated system that's as easy as "one-click".
back to top Q: Does the
3D-Eye Office qualify for an ADA tax credit?
A: 3D-Eye Office is
closed-captioned for the hearing impaired. Qualifying practices are
eligible for the Disabled Access Tax Credit of 50% of the purchase price of
the software and any hardware the program is installed on. Please consult
your accountant to determine if you are eligible for the Disabled Access
Tax Credit.

back to top Q: How do you integrate with other software?
A: Integrations often bind the content of 3D-Eye Office with other software
applications or hardware. Exam Draw is an application that works with
select EMR systems. EMR integration partners include
OfficeMate,
ifa Systems AG,
Compulink,
Maximeyes, and
VersaSuite. Acuity system
integration partners include
M&S
Technologies, Bytespin (aka
Eyecuity),
Innova Systems, and
Woodlyn. Other integration partners
include
Optos and
CyberImaging.
back to top Q: How does it work?
A: The system is a 3D animated communication platform geared
directly to the patient. The software is designed to run anywhere in the
practice, including the reception area, pre-test area, exam room,
consultation room, optical dispensary, contacts area and drop area. In the
exam room, for example, the practitioner can use the system to educate the
patient for several minutes with a presentation specific to his diagnosis
or outcome. With the practitioner in the room, the system quickly converts
to an interactive sketchpad, making it a breeze to draw overtop of the
moving animation and print the selection out for the patient to take home.
In the optical dispensary, 3D-Eye Office becomes an optical dispensing aid
that facilitates increased revenue on lenses, lens options and frame sales
through a fast and easy "good, better, best" scenario. The
software even tracks and monitors the selections to ensure consistent staff
use.
back to top Q: Are
financing options available for my purchase?
A: Eyemaginations offers a
variety of attractive financing options:
- Finance for 12, 24,
36, 48 or 60 months
- 12-Month Interest Free Financing
- 90-Day First Payment Deferral

Interest Free
- In addition, customers can purchase attractive
combination packages that include software and hardware (Tablet PCs,
Touch-screen Monitors and Plasma Displays). Pricing is competitive and
financing packages are flexible and user-friendly.
back to top Q: When is my software
package going to arrive?
A: Software is mailed as
soon as all the installation media is ready to be sent. Eyemaginations
will email and send letters announcing the arrival of software packages.
back to top Q: When is the
latest update to 3D-Eye Office coming out?
A: The release date for each
update of 3D-Eye Office is based solely on development/testing of the
content and software application. Language Pack add-ons usually take a few
months to complete after an update is released. Therefore the
predetermined release dates are never set. However, Eyemaginations strives
to release two updates each year.
back to
top Q: Where can I use the software?
A:
3D-Eye Office is designed for the entire practice and can captivate
patients from the moment they step into the office. From the waiting room
to the optical dispensing area, 3D-Eye Office has proven to be greatly
beneficial in providing a long lasting impression on patients as well as
increasing practice revenue.
back to top Q: How many computers can I run the software on?
A: The 3D-Eye Office is meant to be run on every PC in the
office, even those that are not used for patients. It is intended to train
staff, educate patients and assist physicians with their presentations.
The software can be installed on multiple computers in a single location
with one software license.
back to top Q: Will 3D-Eye Office run on DVD Video Player? / Can I
burn a DVD of the animations?
A: No. The animations are not
available for use on a DVD player, since this format is very insecure and
opens our Intellectual Property for piracy.
back
to top Q: Will 3D-Eye Office run on a Thin Client?
A: No. Thin clients do not provide sufficient system resources
to run a multimedia application such as 3D-Eye Office.
back to top Q: Will 3D-Eye Office run
on Windows Vista?
A: Windows Vista is the latest operating system released by
Microsoft. Because this operating system and its components are new, there
are some compatibility issues with many software products. Eyemaginations
has accounted for some of the known installation and usage issues in 3D-Eye
Office 4.4. Therefore, we highly recommend using 3D-Eye Office 4.4 or
higher for Windows Vista. We will try to address any additional
Vista-specific technical issues as they are reported to our Technical
Support team.
Q: Will 3D-Eye Office run on Mac OS X?
A: The 3D-Eye Office 4.x
software series is designed for Windows 2000/XP. Please note that the
support of our software is isolated to the Windows environment. If this
option is still desired, a licensed copy of Windows 2000 or XP will be
required for each computer. The assistance of a practice's or
outsourced IT resources will be required if this setup proves to be too
difficult or time consuming. That being said, there are two options to run
a Windows environment on Intel-based Apple hardware:
- Parallels is a virtual machine
application. It will run Windows, and therefore run Windows-based
applications while still in Mac OSX.
- Boot Camp is
software designed by Apple to dual-boot. It will run Windows too, but only
after rebooting (making Mac OSX applications inaccessible at the same
time).
back to top Q:
Will 3D-Eye Office run on Linux?
A: Similar to Mac OS X, Linux
is not natively supported by 3D-Eye Office. We recommend the use of a
Windows virtual machine environment in Linux (such as VMware) with
sufficient dedicated system resources, or preferably use a native Windows
environment.

Q: How does the Server/Client install scenario work?
A: The normal workstation-version of the software is loaded on
a computer that is designated as "the server". Two folders must
be shared on the "server" computer with the appropriate Windows
security permissions set. The client application is then loaded on each
satellite computer that points to the "server" computer. Note
that "thin client" computers are not supported. Each computer
must meet or exceed the system requirements for 3D-Eye Office.
back to top Q: Do I need to
activate an older version of 3D-Eye Office before installing an Update?
A: No. All
updates will need to be installed prior to software activation.
back to top Q: Do I use the same
installation media for all the computers in my office?
A: Yes. We also recommend copying the software installer to a
network share, when applicable, to expedite the installation process.
back to top Q: I have many
computers at my office. Can I get additional installation media?
A: Yes. Please contact the shipping department to order more installation
media. Additional discs (CDs or DVDs) and USB installation media are
subject to Shipping and Handling nominal fees. USB installation media is
also subject to an additional, yet nominal fee.
back to top Q: Can I use this software
at home?
A: Yes. We understand the value of using the software. One
install of the software is permitted for a home computer if the end user
owns a site/network license.
back to top Q: Can I use this software at another office? / Can I
share this software with my peers?
A: No. Each license
is unique to one physical location. Use at another location is a breach of
the software license agreement.
back to
top Q: Will I lose my settings, preferences,
playlists, or content if I update 3D-Eye Office to a newer version?
A: In most
cases, no. We highly recommend exporting playlists and F-keys (4.3 and
higher) before updating.
back to top Q: How do I install the Language Pack add-on(s)? /
Where is my language option?
A: All licensed Language Packs
will need to be installed for the corresponding version of 3D-Eye Office
that is installed and activated.
back to
top Q: How do I activate 3D-Eye Office? / What
is the "Unlock Code"?
A: Ensure that the
license is current for the version of the software that is being activated.
If the PC that is being activated is connected to the Internet, use an
Eyemaginations login to activate the software. If the PC that is being
activated cannot connect to the Internet, login to the eyemaginations.com
website where an Unlock Code can be generated for 3D-Eye Office. Technical
Support can provide Software Activation instruction and further assistance
to the customer if they have any questions or problems.
back to top Q: I purchased a Lifetime
license, but my software is expired... Why?
A: 3D-Eye Office may have originally been purchased under a
payment plan. Ensure that the license is paid in full. If it is, the
software simply needs to be reactivated.
back to
top Q: When trying to generate an Unlock Code
online, why do I receive a message that says: “Error - Insufficient
credits”?
A: During the activation process you may receive an error
message saying that "...there are insufficient credits in your account
to generate an Unlock Code". Please verify that you have installed
the most recent version of 3D-Eye Office that you have received. The
online Unlock Code Generator will not produce Unlock Codes for previous
versions, unless set-up by a support member at Eyemaginations.
back to top Q: Why am I missing
animations?
A: If the end user
purchased 3D-Eye Office Plus, they may have mistakenly activated the
software for 3D-Eye Office Standard. They will need to contact
Eyemaginations Technical Support for instructions to simply switch the
license to 3D-Eye Office Plus (no additional installation will be
required). If the software is activated properly, ensure that the software
version is correct.

Q: What does 3D-Eye Office do?
A: 3D-Eye Office is a
multimedia 3D animation software program used to educate and market to your
patients. By using voice, music and moving 3D animation, this interactive
program educates your patients and staff on various topics.
back to top Q: Can I feed
news/TV/weather broadcasts into 3D-Eye Office?
A: The input options on a
display or an A/V switch can be used to toggle between different A/V
sources.
back to top Q:
How can I run advertisements in the waiting room or optical dispensary?
A:
Eyemaginations provides a free service to licensed users called Custom
Media. With the Custom Media feature, users can leverage unlimited vendor
related marketing videos and images within Playlist presentations. Many of
these vendors will assist with a Co-op benefit for running their media
within the presentations. For example, if a user wanted to promote a
specific contact lens in conjunction with the available contact lens
related 3D animations offered within the program, they have the ability to
tell a complete story while still promoting specific product(s) and/or
services. They may also import personal media files (video, image and
audio) from their local or network computer. This feature provides users
with the freedom to customize each and every presentation created for their
patients.

Q: Can I run two instances of 3D-Eye Office on one computer?
A: No. The software will require one computer for each
instance. Attempting to run two instances of video on one computer may
corrupt the program data.
back to top Q: Why doesn't cloned display mode work (vs. extended
mode)?
A: Video playback is currently driven by Windows Media Player.
Cloned mode will often show video or captions on only one monitor, which is
an issue with some video card drivers. Alternatively Eyemaginations
recommends using a VGA or DVI splitter to show the same image on two
displays.
Q: Why can't I save the language options into a playlist?
A: Saving the language in the playlist causes logic problems in
the software, therefore language options must be selected either
immediately before playback, or in the global Preferences menu.
back to top Q: What resolution and
aspect ratio are the videos rendered in?
A: This depends on
whether the "High Resolution" videos are installed. The default
is a VCD resolution (352x240, MPEG-1 compression). The "High
Resolution" is a VGA resolution (640x480, XviD compression). All the
videos are encoded at the standard ratio of 4:3. There are no plans to
encode our videos to a widescreen ratio (16:9). Widescreen displays can be
set to one of three states to compensate: Standard/Normal (4:3 displays on
75% of the screen with black bars on each side), Zoom (4:3 display is
cropped at the top and the bottom), and Stretch (4:3 is stretched to fit
16:9, making things appear wider).
back to
top Q: Why isn't video/audio playback working
properly?
A: There are various causes for this. Ensure that all the
hardware connections are correct (audio and video cables). If the software
was not installed as a Windows Administrator some vital system components
may be missing and reinstallation in this manner will be required. Please
contact Eyemaginations Technical Support for further assistance.
back to top Q: Why aren't
closed captions working properly?
A: Closed captions are
controlled by Windows Media Player, and are subject to hijacking by various
software applications. These include, but are not limited to K-Lite video
codec packs, VobSub, Nero, and Roxio. If the following fix does not work,
please contact Eyemaginations Technical Support:
3DEO_SubtitleFix.exe.
back to top Q: Can I turn off the
captions that are in Sketchpad Mode?
A: Yes, but only
per clip with the Sketchpad Maintenance Tool.
back to top Q: How do I add Custom
Media to a playlist?
A: 3D-Eye Office supports
AVI, MPG, BMP, and JPG file types for media playback, assuming that the
media plays in Windows Media Player on the target computer. The media
files can be added from the Custom Media Maintenance area of the Playlist
Sequence window.
Please refer to the
Getting Started Guide
for additional usage instructions..
back to
top Q: Why are captions missing from the Custom
Media content?
A: Custom Media is
often content created by vendors. Since most vendor content does not
include captions, they are not produced for use in the software. This
feature is a consideration in upcoming vendor media releases, but is
subject to the resources of the vendor.
back to
top Q: How do I synchronize playlists and F-Keys
with other computers with 3D-Eye Office?
A: Use the
Import/Export tool provided with the software. This is accessible through
the Playlist Sequence window and through the program group in the Start
menu.
Please refer to the
Getting Started Guide
for additional usage instructions..
back to
top Q: How do I play animations in PowerPoint?
A: Use the
Presentation Tool on a computer that has a licensed copy of 3D-Eye
Office.
Please refer to the
Getting Started Guide
for additional usage instructions..
back to
top Q: Can I print information from your software?
A:
3D-Eye Office contains some minor functions to print low resolution
pictures. Please review Image Licensing for high-resolution content.
back to top Q: Why are the
audio levels louder/quieter in specific media clips?
A: Balancing the audio levels for any specific clip is fairly
easy once the offending clip is identified. Please make note of the
clip's title and convey this information to Eyemaginations Technical
Support for a correction to be processed.
back
to top Q: What are Heyelites and how do I utilize
this application?
A: Heyelites are
non-narrated, summary clips of animations that are designed to complement
the longer version of the fully narrated animations. Heyelites serve as a
chair side tool for the physician both to explain and demonstrate a
condition, procedure or treatment. Heyelites also offers drawing functions
that a physician may use as he walks the patient through a selected topic.
The particular presentation can then be saved and printed for later use for
both the physician and the patient.
